Articles. (Or, other stuff)

Calendar for 2008. Don't ask what happened to 2007, just don't ask.

All Hot and Bothied. An article on a bothy in Snowdonia. Gives you an idea what to expect. Don't expect grid references for the bothy, or even a name! You'll have to contact the Mountain Bothies Association to find out more.

A printable list of the Welsh Hills. If you read the hill list article below, then you'll know where I'm coming from on this. If not, then the list includes an explanation. The acrobat file is designed to print, the even pages are upside down as that's the only way i could get them to print on my duplex printer. To view on-screen, download this version. Either version can be printed double sided and then folded over to produce a neat little A5 booklet.

Waypoint files for North Snowdonian Summits (as far south as Manod) in different formats. GPX, Tracklogs, Memory Map's MXF format and Garmin. You can upload these to your GPS as trackpoints, and they are helpful in navigating.

Sunrise and Sunset times for Snowdon Acrobat .pdf file, prints on 2 pages A4 to give sunrise and sunset times for 2006. Times adjusted for daylight saving etc. (65k) OUT OF DATE! Check the sunset pages for more information.

Calendar for 2006 A bit late i know! (65k). OUT OF DATE - Will update!

Mountain Leader (ML) Training Blog. My rantings and mabye, useful information on trying to gain this qualification.

What does it take to become a Mountian Leader? An article by Paul Cummings, originally posted on uk.rec.walking.

Lightweight Gear 1 The Big 3.Some musings on equipment, the big 3 this time (tent, sleeping bag and rucsac). Could be the birth of a new section on the site, devoted to lightweight backpacking, UK style as opposed to the US ways (which are not, in my opinion, directly applicable to UK weather conditions). Updated 16/5/06

Lightweight Gear 2. Everything but the Kitchen Sink. This time, a brief discussion on stoves and pans and how to reduce weight. Updated 16/5/06

Lightweight Gear 3. Food Ideas . Just a brief note on food, definately not exhaustive. Send me your recipies to make this a useful resource.

LDPs in Eryri. Links to Long Distance Footpaths and their websites.

Nuttalls, Lists and Metric Mountains. Bit of a rant about hill lists and imperial measurements.

uk.rec.walking. How to access the USENET newsgroups. Some info you might find useful BEFORE you post.

Update History. All the updates to the website, from the day it was conceived. If you hadn't guessed, it was conceived in Snowdonia, and like all trendy parents, i decided to name it after that location...

About the site. About the site, what did you expect?

How to make use of the Downloadable GPS files. A brief explanation of what the route file formats mean.

Gearlists. Well, list at the moment. These can be downloaded into Backpacking Gear Weight Calculator for curiosity, research or whatever reason you can come up with.
